Burning Bright - Tracy Chevalier
I read this recently. I really enjoyed Girl with a Pearl Earring, and was not let down at all. If you're unfamiliar with the poetry and artwork of William Blake it's worth taking a peek before you start. As with GwaPE I spent a lot of time jumping onto the internet to look up stuff that she mentions in the book. Here is the Suite101 review if you want more of an idea what it's about.

I'm really looking forward to reading this one. I loved Girl with a Pearl Earring. Chevalier is so good at describing the setting of her novels. I really could picture the home and art studio, even the richness of the colours. I learned a lot about Vermeer's art from reading the book. I'm glad that Chevalier has followed up with another great period set novel.
