The Stephanie Plum series - Janet Evanovich I've recently discovered this series that has been around since the mid-90s. They are such a fun read, and I get caught up enough in the plots that I can knock one off in an afternoon. I've only read about four of the thirteen books as yet, so I'll probably have to run and hide from this thread if anyone has read all of them, but they're the sort of books that you don't have to read in order. Each of them contains a self-contained mystery, and you just pick up your favourite characters at whatever point they're at.
I imagine that as with all multiple book series, that the quality will decline once I get past the first half dozen. Anyone agree?
Also I much prefer the mysterious Ranger to Joe Morelli. I kind of like how it's not always clear which of them is meant to be the main romantic interest.

I've only read the first one. I keep meaning to look for them at the library on my next visit but never remember when I'm actually there.
I did like the one I have read.
